Hey there community!

I'm brand new to the forums here at tom's hardware but I've used it to look things up before. I am in desperate need of help building a new laptop. I have knowledge assembling computers so the putting it together part isn't too hard for me. The hard part is finding which parts to use. I am a college student so I'm trying to maintain a relatively low budget.

What I need is a computer to do graphics things such as Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and After Affects. These programs use rendering all the time so thats a good thing to note. I also want to be able to play online games that are very populated and have strong affects (this game I play uses Cry Engine 3 currently). I do live streams and record gameplay so I'm guessing I need a strong CPU as well and a lot of RAM. Also want to have an SSD for just the OS and an internal HDD to store games on. Any video/photo work will be saved on an external so it's not as important. As a final note I would like something relatively small. This laptop is also for classes so I don't want it to weight like 20 lbs.

My budget: Trying to hold under $1,200. If I really have to go over I will but I am building it myself to try to save money. Thanks in advance for the responses! Feel free to ask questions if you need clarification.

I'd give up the SSD and get a SSHD. This is $1,384 but the reason i added the better wireless is I was at $1349 and $1350 usually triggers a discount. Discounts are based upon amount ya spend and can range from $50 - $150 as I recall.
