Hey, I am building a computer (never built a computer before) and I wondered which motherboard I should get. I am planning on buying a ssd in the future, so it would be great if the motherboard supported that (maybe a sata express port?). it will also be great if the motherboard is not going to get fried, but that it still is as cheap as possible.

So far I am going with:
Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Radeon R9 280 3GB
Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

I also wondered if I should get the r9 280x insted of the r9 280, or if I just should get a nvidia card.(probably a gtx 760 scince the price is the same)
I am not going to overclock, so are there any reason to get a cpu-cooler (other than stock)?
The main purpose of this computer is gaming and really don't want to spend more than 1000$.

More about : motherboard cheap good

You don't really have to get the WD black 1TB HDD, the Caviar Blue will do fine.
If you're not overclocking, go for R9 280X, it will be faster out of the box than a R9 280 and a GX 760 when you installed the drivers. GTX 760 performs similar to a R9 280.

Not sure if you have this motherboard available:

Definitely get a CPU cooler. Cooler Master Seidon 120M is my suggestion for an AIO and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO for air.

280 to 280x is a difference but you have to justify the extra cost(I would do it) or get a 760 4gb (best option IMO).

I have looked at the motherboards and I have noticed that one of them has a m.2 port. Is that the same as a SATAexpress port, and if no; do I need this port?

You don't need sata express ports.
M.2 is another type of connector.
