If you are looking at just amps, Topping makes some good class T ones specifically the TP20 and TP22 in your price range. Also, you can get a used stereo/AVR too as an alternative.

Even a modest AVR will provide more power to the speakers than the Toppings, but they take up more space and you might not use that extra power.

If you plan to only listen to the speakers while at the computer or in a smaller room, then the Toppings should be more than enough. If you want to listen in a larger or multiple rooms, then perhaps an cheap used AVR would be better.

I would say that if you don't care about the space a AVR takes, then you might as well go with that. If you do, get one with bass management as it will give you the option on easily adding a sub later on.
