i was going to purchase 16 GB of 1866 mhz ram for my AMD FX-6300, I have read this thing about "1 DIMM per CHANNEL", can i populate all 4 of my memory slots ie 4x4 gb? i dont understand what it means.
What motherboard are you running? That is the factor you must look at. Motherboards limit the amount of ram you can run. You have 4 slots so your going to want to break the availible number (Say your motherboard will take 16gb) into slot groups. So 4x4 = 16gb.
Google your motherboard and check too see how much it accepts. Then go from there.
