I have a fan issue I wish to resolve, I know very little about electronics but I just need to know if what I am thinking will work.

I recently bought a Cooler Master JetFlow 120 and an Akasa AK-CB001 Single PSU 4-pin Molex to 4 Fans so that I could connect the additional fan. However, the Cooler Master is a 4 pin fan and the Akasa connects to 3 pins (although only has 2 pins), with plastic in the way of the pins.

Now, can I cut the plastic away and put the 2 pins into the 4 pins to make the fan work? I believe the 4th pin is for speed control but no idea on the 3rd. Or do I need to get a 3 pin adaptor?

Thanks!

It will work if you cut the plastic. I have done it. You just have no speed control so it will be loud

Well it worked, but it was like having a jet engine in my room, I think I'll invest in a proper adaptor, thanks for the help though :)
