ok, im starting a new thread for this, because it needs a good restart, but as originally posted, im looking for advice on the mobo, and ram. im not sure when exactly ill start buying parts, but im fairly certain ill have the ability to start around the beginning of next year.

the machine will be used for gaming, editing 1080p video(from camcorder, and game play captured using shadow play) this is the list of parts i have selected:

as for overclocking, i plan on doing minor bumps to the CPU, and GPU (4.0Ghz on the i5, and maybe 1.5Ghz on the GPU)

thanks in advance.

Your build looks fine i would go for the WS board because you are paying for that mesurment thingy in the ROG board and really how often are you going to use it.

ok, so WS board it is. before i forget, do ether of you know if there is that much of a performance boost going from 2 way, to 3 way SLI. my future 'wish' is to have 3 monitors, on 3 way SLI (if i have to), my aim is to play on all of them.

You can lose like 10 fps with x3 770 but you will still get better fps than x2 770s. I suggest you get 3 cards because then each will power 1 monitor with HDMI and you dont have to plug in 1HDMI and 1DVI into 1 card and only 1 connector into the second. Anyways you might just want to stick to 2 way sli because 880s and 870s are coming out maybe right after christmas and you can get those, they will be cheaper and have better performance.

well that will certainly fit with my time line of having the parts by the beginning of next year. so i guest ill wait to see what the storms bring by the end of the holiday season, and if nvidea/ EVGA comes out with the 870's/880's by then ill just get triplets of those.
