Now, firstly I'd like to say that I'm not a 100% sure about the category, but well pfsh probably correct. Secondly, I've done research before creating this thread - but I'm still very confused.

Hey people! So earlier this summer I built my very first gaming computer. The specs are as following:
GPU: Asus Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II OC
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
PSU: Corsair CS750M
RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 2400MHz 8GB CL11 (2x4GB)
MB: MSI Z97-G43
HD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 6Gb/s
Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker (4 fans included, so it should keep things cool, right?)
So my issue is pretty much that I CTD after a few minutes of playing graphicly modded GTA EFLC (53 fps) and Skyrim (45-60 fps) (The only two intensive games I've had time to try, and probably got). I played some Portal 2 yesterday with no CTD which is why I think it's caused by intensive games.
I'd like to rule out my GPU. The first one I got was broken, so the store sent me a new one on the day. Statistics tell me that it shouldn't be the cause.
The temperatures for the GPU is normally around 33C, and when I CTD it seems to have peaked at 66C. As far as I know, that isn't bad. I'm also running the latest drivers.
So I'm looking for any advice on how to find the problem. Is my rig to low-end to cope with it? Is my PSU to shait? Do I have to little RAM? Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated!
I don't think it's the mods causing this to go wrong. I've ran the same setup on my laptop and it has been working fine with the exception of it becomming so hot you can boil water on the keyboard.
Oh; if you wan't me to find the heat of the CPU or any other component, please tell me how. Unsure about it, or I'd figured it out and added it here already.
----
Summary
- I have a brand new computer, all new hardware
- The GPU was replaced, unlikely it's broken twice in a row
- The GPU reaches 66C in heat while playing the games.
- I CTD when playing graphicly intensive games.
Regards,
Marre
