I've been thinking about selling my i7 990x. I would like to get a new motherboard, and finding a 1366 motherboard isn't easy, nor cheap.

I'm not sure I'm going to sell it, but what would be a good price? Most sold listings on eBay are anywhere from $400 - $500, with some selling below or well above that price. I would like to avoid eBay if possible, though, as their seller fees are quite high.

If I could sell it for even $400, I could easily get an i7 4790K and a good motherboard for another $100 or so. Newegg has a combo running on the 4790K and an MSI Gaming 7 for $481.

Thank you.

Are you looking at selling prices?

Find your parts in used condition on ebay.
Then filter on completed auctions,
In green you will see what the part actually sold for.

You will probably get more from a true auction on ebay unless you can find a buyer yourself.
Fortunately, the shipping costs for a cpu are not high.

The $400 - $500 I specified in my original post is from looking at sold listings on eBay. These are prices for used ones, and as you can see, they vary significantly.

I would like to avoid using eBay, though, as their seller fees are high. If I could sell it for around $500, however, using eBay would be fine.

Finding someone to buy it would be difficult outside of eBay, like you said. Do you have any suggestions as to where I could list it?

Thank you.
