Hi! My last computer recently broke and I need a new one quick! I need a computer that is good for unity and cinema 4d but also can handle premier and photoshop. My budget is around 500 dollars and I am not planning to go with a graphics card at the moment and upgrading with one later. I researched some parts and I found 2 options that I think might suit my needs:

Option 1:
AMD A8- 5600k Black Edition ($99.97 from TigerDirect.ca)
or
AMD A6-7400K Kaveri Black Edition ($95.99 from TigerDirect.ca)
GIGABYTE GA-G1 SNIPER A88X ($107.99 from TigerDirect)
Kingston 8GB HyperX Fury - Black, 2x4GB, DDR3, 1600MHZ ($99.97 from TigerDirect.ca)
Kingston V300 240GB SSD ($134.99 from TigerDirect)
Ultra LSP Series V2 550-Watt Power Supply($24.99 from TigerDirect.ca)
Ultra Etorque X1 Mid-Tower Gaming Case ($34.99 from Tiger Direct.ca)
Total = 502.90 or 498.92
Most of these parts are on sale which is why I chose them

or
Option 2:
AMD FX-8320 ($164.97 from TigerDirect.ca)
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ Motherboard ($84.97 from TigerDirect.ca)
Kingston 8GB HyperX Fury - Black, 2x4GB, DDR3, 1600MHZ ($99.97 from TigerDirect.ca)
Kingston V300 240GB SSD ($134.99 from TigerDirect.ca)
Ultra LSP Series V2 550-Watt Power Supply($24.99 from TigerDirect.ca)
Ultra Etorque X1 Mid-Tower Gaming Case ($34.99 from Tiger Direct.ca)
Total = 544.88 (a bit more then my budget)

My prices do not include taxes which is okay because I plan on getting all the parts for around 500 dollars or under and factoring in tax later.
Also I got all my prices from tiger direct because I live close to one and I don't have much time to wait for stuff to be shipped from other sites like amazon!

I am open to any suggestions or ideas to other hardware! Thank you so much for all your time!

I wouldn't touch anything made by Ultra with a 10 foot pole - pretty much everything they make is absolute garbage, and that includes their cases and power supplies. I seriously can't stress enough how horrible Ultra products are and that they shouldn't be purchased by anyone. You can get far better cases and PSUs in the sub $50 range like the NZXT Source 210 (ATX) or Cooler Master N200 (mATX) and Seasonic G / S12 series. But yeah, stay very very very very far away from Ultra. Those Kingston drives also aren't that great - you can get far better for the same money. Their only redeeming quality is the price. AMD A10s aren't made for any sort of video editing - they're mainly meant for HTPCs and similar usage. I would get an Intel Pentium...

Here's what I would suggest for a budget video editing rig:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ($69.29 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock H81M-HDS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($56.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($84.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($88.02 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.92 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($65.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Optical Drive: Lite-On IHAS324-07 DVD/CD Writer ($17.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $606.16
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I went a bit over budget but that's what I would suggest for a ~$550 - ~$600 video editing rig. And before you knock the choice of CPU - the Pentium G destroys both CPU choices in most tests: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/pentium-g3258-b81-cheap-overclocking,review-33007.html

Thank you for the warning about Ultra! I think I will go with something along the lines of what you suggested. It may be a bit pricey but after looking at what I originally wanted, I think I will get better value from this then I would originally. Thank you very much for your time!

Sure, no problem. We use Ultra products a lot where I work (unfortunately I'm not in charge of purchasing  ) and I've told my boss time and time again how horrible their products are - and how Ultra PSUs cause the company serious downtime and more computer maintenance, yet they still buy them anyways! Yet my boss has seen my PC with a Corsair 500R and Seasonic X750 - never had a single issue with it, never had a single lost minute of downtime - other than when I'm upgrading something. :ange:
