New GTX 760 can't update

So I just upgraded my graphics card from a GTX 660 to a GTX 760. before I removed any hardware I uninstalled the old graphics driver. From there I installed my new card, and proceeded to install the new driver to the new card. The card came with an installation disk, so I decided to go ahead and use that instead of the file I downloaded. The driver was an old version from March. Now nvdia geforce experience is finding the update for the driver, but when I go to install it from a clean instalation, it fails every time. I even tried uninstalling the driver, but then my card can't be found in the device manager. If I end up doing something wrong, the video cuts out and I have to do a hard reset of my computer and sometimes it doesn't come back on until a few hard resets. I'm not sure why I cannot update my driver, but right now it is stable on the old driver. Also the specific brand is Evea.

I've had problems doing a "Clean Install" through GeForce before as well; you could either not do a "Clean Install" or go to EVGA's support site: http://www.evga.com/support/download/ and download the driver from there.

So I was going to boot into safe mode, but now when I restart I get stuck at my TVs no signal screen. I didn't use the program yet and cannot get back past the loading screen anymore. I've tried going back to my old card and this same thing happens. Sometimes it says it will do a restore but I know there isn't anything wrong with my version of windows or the files. Would a full wipe solve the issue? I'd like to avoid it if possible but I can't get past the load screen.

Yeah this is annoying. I used that software and after that installed the new card and it booted up perfectly. But now the new software fails it's install. I'm lost as to what's next.

EDIT

I've tried going back to the old card and doing running the program. I was able to run it with the new card too. The only issue is installing the new driver. I think I'll just go with the old one and wait for something to happen before trying to update. Unless someone has another option for me. thanks for all the help!

Trying running chkdsk /F C: through Advanced Repair options.

Aside from that; did you manually download the latest driver and try to install as we've recommended?
