I recently purchased a set of 5.1 logitech speakers for my computer and in order to use them I had to also purchase the Creative Sound Blaster Omni external soundcard since my internal one did not support 5.1. I now have it all set up properly and it works great.

Only problem is that now my computer will periodically freeze and need to be restarted. My computer was recently built btw and all the components are new. This never happened in the past so I can only assume that the new sound card is causing it. I have no idea whether this issue can be solved inexpensively or if an internal part of my computer needs to be better and if so which part. Please help! :)

Well for the basics make sure you are using the latest Creative drivers and firmware for the omni ->  RODFAQ_21712,VARSET=CategoryID:1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.asp...

Otherwise... Sometimes certain applications can be the culprit I know with the Soundcard I have (Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro PCI-E) that Winamp caused my system to lockup after randomly long periods of time. When I switched to using foobar 2000 it stopped... But anyways hopefully it is just an old driver/firmware issue.
