So I've recently purchased the LG 34UM95P ultra wide monitor. I have to say I really love the thing.
Tom's Hardware did a review of it here

I have had issues with two things.
1: pretty significant backlight bleed on the two bottom corners.
2: When I enable the displayport 1.2 setting in the OSD the right half of my screen has tearing and my complete screen shows horizontal lines about a pixel or two wide that stretch from left to right at varying lengths. This only shows up when displayport 1.2 is enabled and not when using displayport 1.1.
I contacted LG about it and they said they would replace the monitor. However, I've seen many buyers complaining of both of these issues (after a quick google search), and I am scared that my replacement monitor will be suffering the same problems. LG refused to acknowledge that they had heard of any of these issues before and said they are not aware of any product recalls or "future fixes" in the pipeline down the road.
Given that only 1.1 is working, am I better off connecting to my pc via HDMI? I think the limit on displayport 1.1 is something like 30hz, and maybe HDMI is up to 50 hz? Really not sure.
Thoughts?
