I want two answers, what is the communities opinion on the power consumption on the 04G-P4-2768-KR EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SC 4GB w/ EVGA ACX Cooler. I had a 2GB MSI also with a 170 maximum power consumption of 170 just like the Card i want to get! What is the communities opinion will i see problems?
I would use the PerscionX 15 to adjust power use but just on windows desktop there is a power usage of 10-20W and never ever seen it exceed 200W playing for instance BF4.

Also would it work with my computer configuration? I have two Wires for the GPU i have 2x6 Prong cables. I see on the card theres a spot for a 8 connector and a 4 connector. My MSI also has a 4 and 8 connection spot. but my msi went from a 6 to a 8 not two 6's to a 8 prong connection. Just tell me if i can make this work! Again I only have two cables that have 2x6prong connectors!

My current config. Alienware x51
I7-3770
MSI 760 2GB GDDR5
16GB Ram
330W PSU 19v output
2TB Hard Drive

I seen some yotube videos of people with the card in their x51 with no mods. So im sure it will work.

Question Summary:
1. The online communities opinion on putting a EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SC 4GB w/ EVGA ACX Cooler in the Alienware x51 (Note* I've seen people with exact card in their alienware)

2.How will i connect this GPU what do i need to use what cables? (Note* I have 2x6Prong connectors)

I need a answer soon! My GPU over heated and broke because the cable was blocking fan. So the faster, Then the faster i can buy!

The EVGA GTX760 is a great card. Just make sure there's room in your case to fit it and that you get a good 500+W power supply to run it eg

Its a external PSU for a desktop alienwares are small and compact. I seen it work with alienware x51 330w psu what do you think about pushing the computer PSU???

^ Agreed. You won't see any performance increase at all though considering you already have a 2GB 760. Go for a GTX 770 instead maybe?

Don't use the psu that comes with it. You'll set your house on fire.

Really?

That doesn't seem right?

I would guess the computer would shut it self down if it started having problems. Like i said above my old GPU over heated and it kept turning off once in a while. I know it would work but askiing a opnion on what you think i had a GPU that had a same power consumption.

Also I don't think i would let the GPU go and catch on fire.

When in standby i doubt it will ever get hot enough to catch on fire. I think if computer catch on fire i dont think they would release the product they go through a UL Listing so that kind of stuff doesn't happen.

Well. In the forums i wrote my last GPU over Heated because of a cabling error (a cable blocked fan).
