Desktop PC just "crashed" while playing a game...no idea why!

So I'm playing WoW on a system that is way more than capable of handling that game at its best resolutions and my PC just crashed to black screen. The main odd thing is all of the fans keep spinning and the red power light on the case stays on indefinitely. The front fan, back fan,GPU fans, and heat sink fan all spin. The only one that doesn't spin is the top case fan. I have no issues with overheating even though I have it OC'd from 3.3 to 4.3. I've tested it a ridiculous amount of times through much better (graphically) games than WoW while OC'ing and I never pushed it past 75 degrees.

I have:

HAF 912 case (think that's the model)
i5 3750 maybe (really should've wrote it down sometime for cases like this)
8GB ddr3 ram
ASRock Z77 Pro3 mobo
Sapphire 7850 HD
OCZ 700W PSU (I'm guessing this might be the culprit?)
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo heatsink

Any ideas?

Nope, can't turn it back on. Well, not to actually do anything with it that is. The fans spin and the power light comes on, oh and you can open/close the cd/dvd drive. Nothing comes on the monitor though so I can't even get into BIOS or anything.

If I had to guess it sounds like a motherboard problem. Something either came undone or something went. Power to most everything but not certain areas kind of makes me wonder if you blew a capacitor. Are you getting any.motherboard beeps or anything? Are you getting any sounds from like your Windows desktop loading up or anything? Maybe a monitor cable came undone. Check all of your wires and cables inside the case.
Hope this helps.

You still haven't answered my questions. I would not just go buy a new motherboard because you want to try it. Mechanics don't say, "Oh just go buy a new engine because this one won't start". Part of PC building is troubleshooting. There are several things you can try. Remove the graphics card and see if the PC boots up then, once you've plugged the monitor cables into the motherboard ports of course. Try all the simple stuff before you go waste 100 bucks on a new motherboard.

You also have not answered my questions from my previous post.

And to Gbz, ASRock makes a damn good motherboard. They are on the exact same level as Asus or Gigabyte or MSI.

I wasn't going to head straight for new parts, I was just saying. I have old video cards that I was going to try before purchasing something new.

To answer your questions though, no, no beeping, no sounds of startup. Cables are all seated.

Thanks for the information though. Itching for the work day to be over so I can go investigate.

Ok, so I tried another video card and got the same response...well, lack thereof actually. It was a PCI 2.1 card too so I was able to check if it was both the video card or the PCI-E card.

Guessing it's the mobo seeing as all the fans work except for the top one. Not sure what else would cause that.

try booting it without a graphics card in it, just using the onboard graphics, see if that gives you a different respone. I'm not sure what all that board offers, maybe try another pcie slot if it has it. As long as its a 16x slot, the card will work as those are all backwards and forwards compatible. If the slot burned out, then I would suspect some sort of arcing somewhere on the board, usually shorts are easily distinguished on boards. Maybe try removing it and see if you can see any little black, white, or grey "burn" marks anywhere. I just hate for you to have to go out and buy another mobo if that's not the problem. You could also maybe try different cables, possibly a different 6+2 connector for the graphics card.

Turns out it was my power supply. Wasn't friendly with my OC'ing it seems, or at least that's what I'm guessing. Either way, I ended up getting a new motherboard and processor...just because.

Thanks for the help!
