I have a few ideas what i could do, here they are...

- Buy a HP Proliant or the dell equivalent

- Pay monthly for a company to host the server for me

- Create a pc that is powerful enough to host a server 24/7

What would be the best way?

Thanks

-Throw an extra 4GB stick of RAM into your PC
-Dedicate 4GB of RAM to your server
-Enjoy

Look up tutorials for hosting minecraft servers on your own computer. Much easier and logical than building a whole new computer just for it. As long as your PC isn't CPU bottlenecked, you won't have any problems with throwing some RAM in the PC and running a server like that.

You can probably build a very good gaming PC that can host it for the same price as a HP/Dell desktop. Here's problems with hosting on your home PC though:
- Slow internet (high bandwidth usage)
- Slow PC (high CPU/RAM usage)
- Higher electricity bill (higher computer usage, plus it's running 24/7)

Here's what I would do:

Build a gaming PC for $700 (just an example), and have a company host the server.
as opposed to buying a mediocre computer from HP/Dell for $700, and have a company host the server.
