Is it possible to upgrade my processor in my Pentium 4 system?
I want to keep it, but i want it to run a bit better and if that isn't possible should I just overclock it?

More than likely there is no upgrade path. More than likely you can't overclock it. Especially if it is an oem pc. A good way to get people to ignore you is by using all caps.

Honestly, it's not worth spending/investing additional funds on a Pentium 4 (P4) machine. I upgraded my P4 2 years ago to a budget system initially, and the performance gain was significant to say the least.

I would not upgrade your existing system. Rather build your own and you'll notice a major performance difference. If you're willing to build your own, please state how much you're willing to spend and we'll recommend you the components you should purchase to upgrade to a new system. Also please state what country your from, so we can determine the currency we need to adhere to.

To outline the above, I wouldn't spend any more money on your existing system. I'd upgrade to a new system all together, which can be done at an affordable level yet provide at least 5x performance over your current setup whilst more energy efficient too.

All the best. :)

You'd have to tell us what specifc model of motherboard you have, because the pentium 4 can fit in 3 different sockets, and while there may be an upgrade, it might not be noticeable.

Computers age like Cat's or Dogs, so your 10+ year old system is like a 70-80 year old person.

And how fast and hard can a 70-80 year old person work?

As Mr Mason has mentioned, to know if you can be upgraded we would need to know which specific motherbd you have and which processor you are running.

There is a possibility your motherbd may support a Pentium D which is basically a two p4's in one processor..

Two P4's = twice as bad lol! In all seriousness Pentium D's even the 3.4 GHz model are just unbearable to use they are that slow. Never mind the lack of modern instruction sets.
