Hello,

First of all, i'll describe the specs of my PC:

Motherboard: MSI X58 Platinum (MS-7522)
RAM: Corsair 1333 MHZ 8GB
CPU: QuadCore Intel Core i7 920, 2633 MHz (20 x 132) OC 4GHZ
PSU: Agiler 1200 W (8 PIN + 6 PIN for GPU)

After i installed the GPU, the computer became EXTREMELY SLOW, so slow that i couldn't even move the mouse, i tried several fix on windows, since the CPU usage reached 100%, i found one finx that reduced the CPU usage to its normal state (disabling windows update), but the computer was still heavy and very laggy, after removing the GPU and using my old one (ATI 2600 HD PRO), everything went back to normal, so i'm wondering what would be the problem.

I'd like to mention that this video card i bought uses two 8-pin connector, since my PSU doesn't come with two of those (only ONE), i did this:

Used one of these ( http://virtuapin.net/images/adapter-2x-molex-6pin.jpg) and one of these (http://www.systemagnostic.com/wp-uploads/2013/02/2x6pin-to-8pin-PCIe.jpg) to get the second 8-PIN.

So, what could be the problem here?

1.) Software? since i switched from ATI card to NVIDIA card?
2.) PSU, since i don't have two 8-pin connectors (but i don't know why would this be a problem since my PSU has 1200 W)
3.) Video card is defective ( which i doubt because it was sealed and brand new).

Any suggestions to fix my problem?,

Thanks in advance.

did you fully uninstall all the amd and nvidia drivers before you put the new card in? and yes, replace that power supply, and you definitely do not need 1200w... a good quality 650w power supply would be more than enough for any overclocked cpu and single overclocked gpu combination.

also you are likely going to get a little cpu bottlenecking with that i7-920.

Well, TBH this psu has worked very well since i bought it, it worked like charm on a GTX 780 Ti from my brother in law (this one in particular requires 6PIN and 8 PIN), the only "problem" may be the lack of two 8 pin connectors.

<UPDATE>

I did flash my bios and now everything seems to work ok, i uninstalled all AMD-ATI, NVIDIA drivers from regedit and control panel, then flashed the bios, and now (knocking on wood) all seems to be solved.

</UPDATE>

Thanks to you guys for your opinions, Thanks in advance.
