Low quality sound issues

Hello, recently i've been having trouble.. I had an issue where my sound wouldn't come out of my headphones, only my speakers, I had to reinstall some drivers and do some other stuff like that. Anyway, I got it all worked out, now that I'm trying to use my speakers, I've noticed that the quality is significantly lowered. The quality is set to "DVD Quality" (as it has always been) and changing that does nothing. I have noticed that instead of "Speakers" it says "Speakers and Headphones" in my volume mixer, could this be a part of the issue?
Here's what I thought it should look like:

I don't think the volume makes much of a difference, the sound just seems kind of.. muffled now. Any and all help is appreciated!

Edit: I distinctively remember there being enhancement options that are no longer here..

Does IDT have a control panel for the chips they sell like realtek.

I ask this because most of the "enhancements" can make things sound worse if forced on somehow.

Some users like the volume normalization option(SVM for creative users and Loudness Equalization for most others.). It makes the quiet sounds louder and the loud sounds a bit more quiet to keep things at about the same volume. Personally I can not stand it :)

If the system happens to be an HP please check for the Beats audio panel as that is what they use to control the IDT cards on some of the systems they sell.

Most of these onboard cards should not have an issue running both headphones and speakers(even at the same time as long as they are on different ports. Wye...

The lack of options sounds like you have the wrong drivers installed. Try to get those from the system maker or motherboard makers website.

What do you mean? My speakers used to work fine, I'm using a laptop, before I switched to headphones they worked great. I still use headphones a lot, but I'd like this issue fixed.

Now that you mention it, it does used to have a Beats logo on my taskbar that's not there anymore.. I searched for IDT in my start menu and found this (which was of no help to me, btw)

I searched for beats in my start menu and found nothing.

I would try to reinstall the older drivers that at least worked.

You may be able to use system restore or just get them from the computer makers website(my guess is starting to lead to HP).

What is in the preferences section.

I have noticed that in some cases the stock drivers work better than newer ones even when the company made the device.

Going through the hp website right now. I'll let you know how it works :p (And yeah, it is HP, forgot to mention that.)
