So ive been helping my younger brother put together some things in his PC. Its an HP system i added an AMD card to awhile back. Everything worked fine until the pc started randomly shutting down when under high stress. Assuming the PSU was the culprit I bought a bigger better PSU and installed it. Now after the instalation of the PSU the Video card no longer displays. The fans spin full speed and the motherboard has no speaker for a post beep. Digging through the bios there is no option to select the video source. Im at a standstill im not sure where to go from here. Im trying a second port on the video card tommaro (hdmi port instead of the DVI) in hopes that maybe the DVI port was somehow damaged and thats the only issue.

The Graphics card is a Radeon HD 6750 and the new PSU is a Logisys 550W. The graphics card was working fine for a month or 2 prior while using the failing Turbolink 420w PSU. The computer eventually died and wouldnt power back on. After replacing the old PSU with the 550W The video card no longer outputs any signal to the display. The fan is spinning at full speed still. Reseated the card, reconnected wires, TRIED rummaging through the bios for an option to no avail. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... <The Exact graphics card im trying to use. And as stated the old PSU was a failing Turbolink 420W the one i replaced it with is a Logisys 550W. The Bios is no help, it seems HP wanted too make things as dumbed-down as possible.

UPDATE I finnaly realised the GPU is no longer being recognized by the system. It doesnt appear in the device manager.

Your PC will automatically select the graphics card over an onboard option. What PSU did you buy and what GPU did you buy? Did you install the GPU correctly?

Double check all connections. And make sure "leads" have their wires seated into them fully.

If you installed the new GPU into the PCI-E Slot on your motherboard and then plugged the VGA or DVI into the video card, it should display an image when your PC boots.

Yes i know how to install a graphics card. As stated the problem is that it was working fine for a month or 2 prior to a new PSU.

Your PSU must be bad, try to return it and get another one.

Is that still a possibility even though i can tell its getting power? I can see the fan spinning at full speed while it is plugged in and powered on. It seems like its getting power just not being recognized now after the new psu.
