Z97 or Z87

Here is my build so far I will mainly be doing gaming and am going to overclock once i get a watercooling system. Should i stick with the motherboard I have on there the Asus Maximus Hero VI or should i go with a Z97 if a Z97 which board should i get?

If you have a Haswell processor then go directly for Z97 as it's a bit hard to do BIOS update for Z87 to be compatible with 5th Gen processors.

I would suggest Z97 as it's compatible with 4th Gen processors plus it's also compatible with 5th Gen processors, your upgrade ceiling is higher if you choose Z97. No hassle of updating your BIOS with Z87.
