just built up a new pc with the following specs

psu - thermaltake tr2 430w
cpu - amd fx 6300
ram - 2x corsair vengence 8gb ddr3
case - cooler master elite 430
video card - gigabyte geforce gtx 660
motherboard - asus m5a97
hd - western digital 1tb
cd - some stock brand

i get power to all of my devices. the mouse i plug in is lit up, theres a green light on the motherboard, the fans come on and i can hear the power of the computer generating when it comes on. i just cant get a bios screen or even any beeping codes to occur. theres no video going to the pc. everything is plugged in correctly i double checked. im not sure if its either the motherboard or cpu but id like a second opinion so i can figure out what to return tomorrow. thanks for any help in advance.

why would my pc still be powering on but not going to bios if the psu isnt correct? i looked it up and i need at least 300w. what is the problem with that?

idk where you are looking but a 660 needs much more than 300w.... simply type in 660 psu requirements into google and you will see. the general recommendation is 450.
EDIT:
and as far as why, i don't know. my guess is its trying to power more than it can. I would just try it. for me its always been like a car. process of elimination

yeah you might be somewhat right. its not turning on even without the graphics card in there. i think ill ship back the psu tomorrow and try a different one with some more watts. i just found this config off some website and thought it was solid since all the comments had positive responses, but i reread the article i found this in and it says to think of getting a 500w one which is what ill pick up tomorrow.
