I am looking to build a small yet powerful desktop for my college dorm and I came across a newegg DIY combo that I thought was a decent value. My only problem however is that I am not sure whether some of these parts are compatible or not (Mainly the case and the motherboard). It says the case is a mini tower which accommodates mATX motherboards, and yet the motherboard included in the combo is a standard ATX size. So my question is whether or not it will still work given what I'm seeing on the website. I realize if it does work it may be a tight fit, but I kinda want this bundle to work out.

Yeah all the components are compatible and also that is a good price for the specs of that PC, will be getting Decent FPS on high setting on games such as COD and Watchdogs

I'm not sure why a DIY combo from a reputable site would have incompatible parts... but yes, it'll be compatible. I worry slightly about the PSU, but it should be no big issue...

Are you sure about the case and the motherboard? Don't mini towers typically only house mATX or mini-ITX motherboards? Is this standard ATX still okay? Newegg has a disclaimer that they arent responsible for parts not being compatible lol

I do find the power supply a bit underwhelming, but if that's the only thing lacking in this it wouldn't take much effort to simply pick up a better one separately and switch for that instead

Didn't notice the case. That case will most likely not fit in with the PSU if I'm looking at it correctly.

That is my dilemma. As you said it's a reputable company but it just doesn't seem to add up

There may even be problems with the motherboard fitting too.

I personally don't focus on the case as much just because that's probably the least important factor. I concern myself more with the actual parts. The case can always be picked out or you could recycle an older case or something.

looking at it more the case is too small to house the Motherboard and also the GPU would be too big, im sorry about my earlier comment I thought that it was a mid tower case, but in all fairness this is still a very good deal maybe buy it then just buy another case. that would be my suggestion anyway look at cool master or Cassair cases they give good air flow with lots of room to upgrade :D  I hope this helps
