Hello,

I have a SONY VAIO VGN AR71ZU , which is now dead due due to the defective well known Graphics card ... I would like to recover some very important data in the Hard Drive...
Problem, on this PC there were 2 x 256 Go Hard Drives, which appeared as a single C volume of 512 Go ...
I tried to connect one of the SATA drives to one of those supports plugged through USB to my new portable... on the first disk , Windows saw no data but offered to format which i hopefully refused.
As for the second it saw nothing at all...
Is there some software which would enable me to recreate the structure of the virtual volume i had in order to recover the data ?

Thanks for your help !

i didn't know that this was RAID , though i suspected it.. i thought that RAID was to create some kind of data loss protection not to comibne HDD capacities...
So i have as well an old desktop PC with XP, how could i setup this to read those drives, buy a raid controller ?

Does someone know if Raid 0 on Vaio VGN AR71 is software or hardware based?
As it seems i will need the exact same controller to recover data if it is hardware based...
