Hi, I just bought an Antec 1000w HCP Platinum PSU. Everything works but the motherboard cable is really faulty. I thought the PSU was dead at first but the m/b cable needs to almost be pulled down with pressure for the power to register. I had to tie a twisty-tie and kind of yank down for power to stay on. Otherwise it would turn on and off as I moved the cabe. I can't push it in any further, it is already locked. I'm not sure if or where I could get replacement cables or which one will actually fit. Any help would be appreciated.

you will need to make sure that none of the pins for the connections for your motherboard are bent because if they are this could cause the on/off thing that you are explaining, also if none of the pins are bent then just contact the supplier because it may be that a couple of the cables may be damage internally

also check to see if the power pins are locked into the connector. some times there not and can push out of the power connector.

It's def connected, I can't apply more pressure without breaking the board. The other cable for my slightly older psu works perfect, no issues. The cable for the old psu won't fit this Antec, slightly different cables.

this just sounds like a failed connection ask for a replacement cable and if that dosent work then its guna to have to be a motherboard replacement as some of the connectors may of come out of alignment, this will be true even if your old ones works because they would also be out of alignment

I guess I don't get that, if I plug my old psu in, the motherboard cable fits perfect, has no issues. The pins on the board itself look perfect. I really don't think there's anything wrong with the motherboard itself.

If it does the same on a different pc rma the psu.At least talk to the vendor and look for a replacement considering this behaviour..
