Sometimes when i turn on my PC the fans start to roar and the displays just stay black, I've been looking for an answer to this but I can't seem to find one, this is confusing as only sometimes it happens, plus i turn off my computer as normal everyday. The only way to fix this black screen problem is to turn off the computer manually, and then it starts up normally most times. I just wanted to know how to fix this, even though it doesn't happen all the time, it'd be nice to know if theres anything wrong with my PC, thanks

go on the asus website and click support look for something in there called drivers if you click it it should give you the option to check for updates just remember that they will probably ask for your exact model
depending on the age of the parts it could be a weak cmos battery if the motherboard is a few years old. could be a bios bug on the mb. is the mb running the newest bios file??? if not the power supply may not be outputting the right voltage on one of the legs sometimes or there a leaking cap on the mb.

Hi, I have just checked my BIOS and I saw it is was outdated (25/02/2013) with a SMBIOS version of 2.7. I am not exactly sure what this means as I am new to this PC building scene, anyways is there a way I can update this and how do I do it?
(Oh and also all my parts are around a year old)
Thanks

Yes, but I have done that but when i do download the files I am not sure what to do with it afterwards, i extract the zip file but am unable to open the .cap file it sent me. Apparently i'm meant to do something involve a USB drive? I'm not sure and heaps of other sites are confusing to follow. Anyways thanks for the reply!
