Hello guys,

So basically my ASROCK p67 pro 3 died, it doesn't boot up, tried all possible things.

Now I need to buy a new motherboard, and my options are not many. I could order the same one as this, however I no longer see asrock or specially this p67 pro 3 as a good one.

Anyone could suggest me the best possible motherboard for 200$ price range.

I am having I5-2500k with Gigabyte hd 6850 Gonna use 2x 4gb kingston hype blue 1333 (1600 If I can with this cpu, not sure yet. Could use some help as well)

So please, please, please suggest me the best possible motherboard for that price range.

a z97 board would be a good investment, a gigabyte g1 sniper z97, asus sabertooth mk2 or a msi gaming 5 maybe

Alright, I looked through and seems like so far gigabyte g1 sniper z97 is the best choice, yet I am still a newbie at such a things and I am afraid to buy a bad motherboard. Any other suggestions?

EDIT: Btw, as I read, isn't G1.Sniper Z97 more suited for somekind of people who work with audio? As it seems it's focusing a lot on audio quality and so on.

If you plan on upgrading cpu in the near fufutre, go for a z97 board as it will support future chipsets

Alright, so which from z97 boards would be the best for my current cpu? Also now i read the info of my old asrock, like

''Supports Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology
Supports Intel K-Series unlocked CPU
Supports Hyper-Threading Technology''

Do these 200$ z97 and so on also support such a things?

Your I5-2500k will only work with the P67's I listed. To use Z97, you'll need to get a new CPU too.

So if my cpu can't support those z97 and stuff, the best thing I can get is the one you linked?

''ASUS P8P67 DELUXE <REV 3.0> LGA 1155 SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 Supported Intel P67 DDR3 2400 ATX Motherboard''

Alright, so it costs 175$ while my old one 60$, will I get any real advantage for paying more than double? As considering this is p67, I will be forced to buy a new motherboard in the future. Maybe I should just save some money and buy the same motherboard as I had before?

I've got no worries in buying another of what you had. Just thought you might not trust it.

Now as I read you want me to stick with p67, shouldn't i upgrade to z77 and so on? As i5 2500k works with it.

If you want to use Z77 try eg ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Yep, that's the one I ordered yesterday, together with 2x 4gb 1600 ram. Gonna enable xmp in bios so that 1600 would work with my procesor.
