Hey guys, I am going to be building a gaming pc soon for the first time, and i want to know if all my hardware is compatible with each other before i purchase, and if it will be able to play games like COD ghosts/advanced warfare or battlefield 4 at the highest settings. Hoping for around 60 fps, 40 fps at minimum. This is what i have so far...
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670k
Mobo: Asus Maximus iv Hero
RAM: 8gb or 16gb ddr3 ram (havent chosen a brand yet, any suggestions?)
Hard drive: 500gb ssd hard drive (samsung 840)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 780 ti
Case: Not sure on case, dont need a good looking one, just one that will do the job. Should i go for micro atx or full atx?
Samsung CD and DVD drive (not set on a model yet)
Also not sure on the psu...

Can anyone help?

I have a few things to say:
1. There is no ASUS Maximus IV Hero motherboard. If you meant ASUS Maximus VI Hero, then you've chosen well. One of the best mobos you can get.
2. 8GB of RAM is enough for gaming.16GB is more than enough for today. If you really want 16GB,then you can get it,it's no problem.Corsair Vengeance,G.Skill Sniper,Crucial Ballistix Sport,Kingston HyperX Beast or Kingston Fury series are my recommendations.Get whichever one you like the most. ;)
3. 500GB should be plenty for your system. If you ever feel like you need more,Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM HDD is an excellent option.
4. For the case,Corsair 300R or Corsair 450D. Only difference between them is that the 450 can support the Corsair H110,while the 300R can't...
Yes that is a top tier gaming pc. At 1080p you should enjoy very smooth gameplay with whatever game you like.

For the PSU I would stick with Antec, Seasonic, or XFX. There are other good units out there but these brands are the least of a gamble .

8gb is enough but it's not uncommon to see all that RAM get used up. I will he upgrading to 12 soon. (3 x 4GB sticks ). I've never run out of RAM while gaming. Only when running a lot of IDE stuff for coding webpages and apps + Photoshop. So 8 would be a safe start and you can always add another stick

YES. This would play any game you throw at it at ultra settings. (Unless advanced warfare is a really bad port, likelihood: high)
I suggest the evga 750 or 850 watts modular PSU, it has a high efficiency and all the cables you need.
You don't really need 16gb of RAM, but its a bonus. Kingston and corsair are good memory brands, I would go with 1866 MHz memory. Either hyperX or vengeance pro is a good choice. Look for two sticks of four GBs because this delivers faster performance.
For a case: I would go with a NZXT or Fractal design case, but other brands are equally good. NZXT cases are a bit expensive but look very nice, Fractal designs cases are practical but look a bit bland. Be sure to get an ATX case.
:p

5. Great choice of the GPU.Also one of the best.Go for an EVGA 780 Ti with an ACX cooler or a Gigabyte 780 Ti with their Windforce cooler.
6. The GTX 780 Ti requires a 620W PSU minimum.I would suggest getting a XFX Core 650W or a Antec HCG 620M PSU.If you want to SLI in the future,EVGA Supernova G2 1000W is the way to go.
7. Also,if you want to SLI,make sure that you OC the 4670K.That way you won't get bottlenecking.With one 780 Ti,the 4670K doesn't need to be OC'd.
8. Yes,the PC will be able to run all games at high-ultra @ 50+ FPS.
9. Asus VS247H-P is my recommendation for the monitor.23.6",1080p and 2ms response time.
Hope this helps. ;)
