I didn't get any reply on my previous thread. So I'm shortening that thread to a simple question.

What is the best cooler for FX-8350 processor which has to face ambient temperature of 25° C-45° C in summer?

I currently have Deepcool IceEdge 400XT (http://www.deepcool.com/product/cpucooler/2013-12/7_210...), suggest me something better than that.

I think water cooling will be out of my budget, but if you guys suggest that I'll waste my money on air cooler, then I'll go for water cooling. I'm not OCing right now but I'll want to give it a try if my cooler can handle it.

For more information kindly check my previous thread.

I would suggest getting the noctura NH-D14 or the corsair H100i depending on what exactly your budget is and also whether you prefer air or water cooling for your CPU

I've been running a Cooler Master V8 and it works great but if you are going to spend a decent amount on a cooler you might as well go for the Corsair H80 or H100 I. The Hyper 212 EVO is a very popular air cooler also but need to know what your budget is also to help narrow it down.

Can you give me a hint on the improvement if I get this cooler? How much temp it will drop? I just checked the current situation of my cooler. With cool and quiet disabled cpu stays at 4ghz and core temp is 55C, socket temp is 69C. (While playing BF3)

According to the chart he posted it would be around 10 degrees C maybe a few more degrees cooler. 55C isn't overly hot for that cpu under load by any means either. You got 10 degrees of headroom yet although cooler is always better and increases life but at 55 it will last a long time.

Right you are. 55C is fine, but Socket temp is going to 69-70C which is almost near the max value.

But if you are saying that according to chart it will drop 10C then core temp will be 45-50C and socket temp will be 60-65C, which'll be fine I suppose.

Any idea on how much temp "Cooler Master Hyper series" will drop as compared to current cooler?

How much 212 EVO will drop my temperature? (as compared to current cooler I have)

And how much will D14 drop?

You can see the temp values I'm getting with the current cooler. How much temp will 212 EVO or V8 drop? And how much H80 or H100i drop?

D14 vs H100i. Which one is better? Which one will fit in my case? (Cooler Master K281).

It won't support a 240mm radiator - so the H100 is out.

And it'll onlt support a 162mm high cooler. The DH14 is 160mm so it'll just fir.

OK so my case (K281) will not support H100i. Will DH14 fit perfectly?

What about Hyper 212 Plus? The link you have given says the Hyper 212 Plus > V8 > Hyper 212 (cooling effect).

So should I go for Hyper 212 Plus?

What about Hyper 212 Evo? That is not mentioned in the link.

I said the DH14 will just fit.

I'm not talking CM 212 evo because you wanted a good cooler. The CM is OK, but not great.

The K281 supports coolers up to 162mm in height.
CM Hyper 212 EVO is 159mm,CM Hyper 212+ is also 159mm high and the Noctua NH-D14 is 160mm high.
All three can fit, while the NH-D14 is the most effective and the most expensive.
If you're planning to do some serious OCing(4.6 GHz and up),then NH-D14 is the way to go.
If you're planning to do some light OCing(up to 4.5 GHz),then the Hyper 212 EVO is the way to go. ;)
Hope this helps. ;)

OK.

Will I be able to overclock to 4.5GHz with Evo 212? The ambient temp is between 30-45C in summer.

Also if we compare Evo 212 and DH14 then obviously DH14 is better, but by how much percentage? I mean if I have Evo 212 and it gives 45C during high load, then what DH14 will give at same load? 40C?

OK. Any hint on how much temp it will drop as compared to my current cooler if I use CM 212?

And the same between 212 and DH14?

Hyper 212 Evo looks affordable to me. For DH14 I'll have to save more. Is there any cooler between their price range?

The CM Hyper 212 EVO is a great cooler.I am using it right now and I'm very happy.
It's also summer in Montenegro and the temps are around 30C.My CPUs temps at idle are 34C and it never goes beyond 55C when gaming. The highest temp I had was when playing Crysis 3,55C. ;)

Is power saving (cool & quiet) enabled on your system? I'm getting 55-58C while playing BF3, so does that mean my present cooler is same as Evo 212?

But this link: http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=265... tells me that there will be difference of 8C.

If you get 58C when playing BF3,then you will probably experience the same temps when playing BF4 or Crysis 3.

So what do you suggest? Should I get Evo 212? Will that reduce 8C temp as the link says?
