Hi guys,

I am sure how irritating everyone thinks windows update is, and apparently it installed a new update a few days ago (I forgotten what that update was called) and since then I have been facing a few issues.

Issue #1

Everytime when I startup my PC and log in, if I accidentally typed in the wrong password, it would say "Please wait" with this dial thingy on the left spinning. Before the update it spins around 3-5 secs and tells you something like your password is incorrect, if you forgotten it you can change it here... Now it lasts forever. It will be stuck on the please wait thing until you reset the system.

Issue #2

Everytime I start up the PC and I get the screen that says Hi. And stuff like setting up my pc etc. and it logs me into a random temporary desktop.

Issue #3

My entire PC is now tons slower. It takes me 10 mins just to start afterburner and it used to start in a blazing 3-4 secs...

Can you guys help solve my issue? Thanks :)

Reinstalling software is relatively easy and if this solves your problem should you reconsider. Also afaik doesn't it uninstall programs as said,it only sets certain system set-ups back to earlier ones like updates and such.

your profile doesn't show your OS... you can go into the control panel under windows updates and roll back the latest updates. Some Win 8.1 updates have causes some systems to require an update for the BIOS and maybe the video card driver.

What Version of windows are you using? I would suggest you to restore your PC to an earlier time, it won't effect your files, but would get your windows in the old condition, you can find the restore button on the lower left side when you log out (in windows 7)

Hi guys,

Sorry I had issues with my internet yesterday. I am using windows 8.1 and I have avast! Antivirus on board. I did a few full scans and everything went fine. I don't want to restore since the previous system restore point was when I just got my PC and I don't want to lose all my games, software, etc.

Any other solutions?

Again thanks in advance :)

Ryan

Restoring doesn't delete any of your games or data at all, it just rolls back the updates and other un-important stuff which has nothing to do with your data. And you should definitely set backup before restoring just to be safe.
