Hey guys, i'm from Egypt and the electricity cuts off everyday randomly so...
It sometimes cuts off while i'm playing and i'm scared that this may affect my componenets

My Build :
Case : Zalman Z9 Plus
PSU : EVGA 850 G2 80 Plus Gold
Motherboard : Gigabyte G1 Gaming z87
CPU : Intel Core i7-4770k @ 3.50Ghz
CPU Cooler : The Stock Cooler (as i'm not going to overclock the CPU..)
GPU : Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti Windforce 3x OC
HDD : Western Digital 1TB Black
OS : Windows 8.1 Pro

Thanks

i would say it is not good and the spike may affect the components or PSU... u should get a APC battery backup so it stays on after a power loss, then decide if u need to shut it down or wait for the power to return.

No. There is no spike from power off. Only possible damage is data loss/corruption, which may cause instability in the OS.

Buy an UPS. This way, if the power cuts off, you will have about 5 minutes to shut down safely.

Yeah, a power off isn't that bad on the components, since that's essentially what happens every time you shut down. Its spikes that are the real problem.

With your PSU, there's no cause for concern. The no-brand, crappy ones can stop working but the internal components will still be fine.

A UPS can be connected via USB cable to the computer. Software on the computer can use the USB link to determine when the UPS is low on battery. It can then initiate a clean shutdown. No possible loss of data and use for as long as possible.

Hmm. Maybe I need to be clearer on this.

If you're worried about data loss, get a UPS. If you aren't, don't. If all you're doing is gaming, you almost certainly don't need a UPS and a sufficiently powerful UPS will probably be rather pricey.

The original question was about issues when power goes OFF. I agree with @Someone that loss of power shouldn't cause a problem. But the real potential for problems is when the power comes ON but isn't stable. A standard surge power strip will provide protection. A UPS has protection. A quality power supply has built-in protection. Defense in depth isn't a bad thing. I will always recommend a UPS to at least allow for the option of a clean shutdown, but my PC is on (sleep mode) 24/7 .

Unfortunately i can't afford an UPS at the moment and even if i could i think i'd better do other stuff with that money, i mean i still need a CPU Cooler, some fans, maybe a SSD and a better mouse and keyboard (i have a 5$ mouse and keyboard..) and also i guess after knowing that this won't affect my CPU, GPU, etc i won't need an UPS, about the PSU, i have just bought this PC two weeks ago and i still have a warranty for that PSU so i don't have to worry about it

I know that when the electricity comes back it may come high and cause a spike but first when it cuts off i unplug everything immediately, i faced the loss of data a week ago that when i opened my PC after the electricity had come back i didn't find some programs and some games had just disappeared like it was a roll back or something but it never happened since then and let's hope it won't happen again, Thank you guys for every information.
