I have been having issues for the past while with my system and I have run out of ideas. I get the BSOD or the system freezes for nearly anything that is even a light load. The system is approaching 7 years old now but still runs games great, if it weren't for the BSOD or freezing of course. The problem is persistant over Windows 7, Windows XP, and Ubuntu.
Specs:
Asus M2N-E Motherboard with a 2.8 GHz Dual core CPU
Nvidia GForce 8800 GT GPU
2 - 2 GB DDR2 RAM
3 - 500 GB HDDs and 1 - 1 TB HDD
This is what I have done:
MemTest86+ run for 3 hours, 0 errors
2 GPU stress tests for several hours each, Valley Bench Mark and FurMark run just fine
Prime95 as a CPU stress test for 5 hours, no crashes
Reapplied Thermal paste
Reinstalled XP
Reinstalled 7
Run Ubuntu, even tried running it off the USB stick with no HDD's hooked up, still froze
Run with only 1 stick of RAM
Updated Drivers
What triggers a system freeze or BSOD:
Seems Random
Browsing the internet
Streaming a video
Playing Games - I could play Diablo 3 for 30 minutes or it crashes 5 seconds into loading the game.
Errors on BSOD
page fault in non-paged area
mrxsmb.sys
execute non-executable memory
Any thoughts?
