Hey guys i just ordered a new rig with asus 270x graphic card. At home I already have a lcd monitor which only comes with a VGA cable. Will it work with the 270x graphic card as it has dvi-d inputs? Will i need to buy a new lcd monitor?
please help

Solution
It depends on the exact model of the card. But of it is the Direct CU II model, you can, yes. Use the DVI-I port with the adapter that should come with the card.

Are you in the US? If so, this should be the model sold here in the States: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CKWL_fCUp8ACFQypaQodrn8ATw&Item=N82E16814121802&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Desktop+Graphics+Cards-_-N82E16814121802&ef_id=U@FajAAAAfSaLYyw:20140822151519:s
As you can see in the expanded pic, it has both DVI-D and DVI-I ports. The DVI-I port always has the extra 4 pins around the flat slot. Those are the analog (VGA) signal)

It does here in the States... lol. (of course, you'll have to tell Windows which is the main monitor)
