Hello everyone,

Recently I decided that I am going to reset my HDD cause of some issues that were present before.
While those issues appear to be gone now, I have run in to problems with Windows update itself this time.
Basicly I reseted everything on my pc to the factory settings, wich took about 3 hours.
After that the pc started, the start screen opened and I started removing all the unwanted apps and downloading Steam and Origin on it and replacing the trial anti virus program given my standard with AVG free wich I have always trusted.
After this I decided to manually check for updates and 101 updates were found,I started installing them wich took about 90 minutes, than Windows update asked me to restart the pc to complete the update.
So I did, after that a message that goes someting like ''configuring Windows update do not shut down computer'' apeared on the screen, and after 15 minutes it said that someting failed and the settings were being reversed.
After this I could not visit my Gmail account cause it would not load unless I choose some kind of HTMML version.
I could watch any videos on Youtube and all the thumbnails were blank.
I even could not visit certain sites likes the Microsoft forums themselves to ask for assistance.
I tried various methods to fix the issue, like:
Using the sfc/scannow command in CMD
Trying to look for updates manually
Restarting the pc
Windows update troubleshooter, wich told me 3 errors had been fixed and I should try the previous failed actions again, but this did not work either.
Also I noticed that the Windows clock was 2 hours ahead of the actual time, but I fixed that myself.
Anyway, I reseted the pc again and did not touch any apps, checked Youtube and it turns out to be working now.
Only I am not sure wether I should look manually for updates myself or just restart the pc and hope for the best?

Thanks for reading, any kind of help is appreciated.

1) If you have all your updates now, just leave on AUTOMATIC.

2) Also, make a backup IMAGE using Acronis True Image or similar to a secondary drive so you can restore in case of problems like this.

I paid for the full version so I have it automatically backup once per week (incremental) and even deletes older backups. You can get the free version from WD or Seagate (Seagate's called DiscWizard) but that's manual backup only.

Well after a long 90 minutes of installing and downloading it asked me to restart the pc.
This is process took about 2 and a half hours in wich it told me that the configurations failed and it was reverting the settings wich was on the screen for like 1 hour long, after this there was a text on the screen telling me wait a moment, that took about 30 minutes, and after that it told me it was shutting down wich was on the screen for 30 minutes.
So after this I tried to check for updates again and it tells me that it needs my help for updates, wich leaves me kinds of empty handed since there is no link directing me anywhere to fix this, any ideas anyone?
