part of the image on my HP G60-243CL laptop is being pushed off of the right side of the screen, but I think the screen itself

I have tried everything I can think of and I have a feeling that if I do to o much experimenting I'll end up breaking something else. The screen itself seems to be fine but it only works even partly a third of the time. About three quarters of an inch of the image on my screen is being pushed off of the side where I can't see it and that is creating a gap where a fuzzy section is being displayed where there is literally nothing there. I already tried unplugging the video cable under the keyboard and putting it back but that didn't work. What do I do now?

jarotech, I tried the external monitor, but I have no clue what cable you're referring to. If you're talking about the one underneath the keyboard, I already tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but that didn't work. could you describe the cable's location in greater detail and maybe provide a few instructions?

Yes I had a picture. There were no missing parts or things I couldn't see off screen. How does that help me?

That mean the signal is good from the GPU, the problem is the screen or the cable or a bad connection. I was referring at the cable connected at the back of the screen in the lid. If you have a bad connection at the back of the screen, maybe that is the problem, if not, then the screen is defective.
