Does anyone know of a cheap brand/model of usb wifi card that does not require drivers to be installed that will just play and play (with Windows 7 at least)? I do a lot of OS installs and it's a pain when you need to install ethernet/wifi drivers which means downloading them on another computer, transferring to usb drive and then installing. A "universal" usb wifi card that I could plug in and download the required drivers is all I would need it for, I don't care about speed (G would be fine). If it would at least work with Windows 7 with no driver since that seems to be the majority of installs at the moment.

Thanks!

All the usb adapters need a driver to work. I have an older Linksys Valet adapter, and the software is preloaded onto the adapter, and it automatically installs in Windows so that may be more convenient for you.

Yes I have ethernet the problem is when I don't have WIFI OR ethernet drivers. ;)
Worst case I will just use my old DLINK adapter and put the drivers on my usb drive but it's an extra 2 steps to install and then uninstall (if it has garbage software bundled with it) after I'm done using it.

Don't listen to them. I'm using a rt2870 chipset based wifi usb dongle. Works straight from windows 7 and above with built-in drivers in Windows. ( model : Aztech WL552USB). You might try buying the same type of chipset but with a different brand as this model comes from Singapore. Works wonders when fixing PCs.
