I use a lot of emulators on my pc, and the a10 isn't cutting it for the dolphin or pcsx2 emulator. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but I'd like something as fast as the CPU that I already have for general processing. I'll be pairing whichever CPU recommended with a 750ti or 270x. Also, if you have a good recommendation for a motherboard that'd be great.

Thanks!

A G3258 will be a lot better in single threaded apps than the a10, however if your programs are highly threaded then the a10 still wins. But you can overclock the G3258 to compensate.

I don't know those programs, so I can't make an absolute evaluation that one is better than the other.

What would you say about an i3-4130? What would be the max GPU without a bottleneck? Or is an i5 that much better?

I5 is 100% better than the i3, however if you can't afford an i5 an i3 will not bottleneck a r9 270X.
