I have had it with my computer. I didn't think it could get any worst. Oh, but this has taken it to the next level. Windows just said 'You know what? I'm just gonna deactivate myself.' And deleted all system restore points along with it.
I cannot reactivate it as I do not have the key, because I forgot to ask the seller of the computer to give me the key and disc. Now what can I do? I really do not know. Microsoft said contact Lenovo, whom I have sent an email to today and no reply as of yet. Is there anything I can do?
Thank you a load. ;-)

You could try one of these,
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/tp/topkeyfinder.htm
download an iso of the o.s. you have on the laptop, burn a boottable dvd and reinstall windows.
Make back ups of what you want and can.
With that key may you even be able to reactivate, you could try that too.

Maybe you can do a recovery,
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht036037
the back-up advice still applies.

You can contact a moderator to unselect or pm the one who you gave best answer and ask him to do it.

Contact your computer manufacturer. In this case Lenovo and explain them what happened. Tell them your computer serial number, because they installed OEM version of OS and they have it somewhere in their database.

You can try using some of the Key Finder software programs that scan your registry files and if you are lucky you could get the key and just re-install it. I used Magical Jelly Bean, heard that's Product Key Finder good. Its up to you and your luck. I hope this download links are good:

For future reference (and anyone else reading this)....with a used PC, your first move should be a full wipe and reinstall of the OS, with a known good license. You never know what the previous guy, or the owner before him, had on there.

As you've found out in this case, an illegal license.
