I bought a new tv, and I have a computer with my movies on it in the room adjacent to the room with the tv. I was wondering what the best way to watch movies from my computer, on the tv would be. There is a wall between them and I don't want to run a long hdmi cable through both rooms.

Use a wireless video connection, you can buy adapters that plug into the HDMI port on both TV and graphics card and instead of a wired connection, they do it wirelessly. There will be some lag, so no gaming but for movies it will be fine.
