Your probably gonna think "what a stupid question" , but I like some of the facebook games and one of them is farmville 2 . I also like playing gta 4 , my computer plays it very well . but when it comes to fv2 it lags . I know i'm coming from 2 different angles but just wondering why there is so much difference . I'm running win 7 Ultimate on a ms-7238 with a e2200 , 2.5ghz ram , zotac 9800 , 2 segate sata hd 80 and 120 ghz . linksys wireless , connected to infinity , running at ping 20ms , download speed 10.07mbps , upload 5.90mbps . windows index is 5.3 .
Let's clear up things first.
- You've confused "Gigahertzes" with "Gigabytes"
![:) :)]()
You have 2.5GB of RAM and 2 Seagate Sata HDD of 80 and 120 GB.
- Your connection options don't matter in this case. Once loaded the first time, flash games consume a very low bandwidth only for data synchronization.
- Ping depends on what you tested with. If you went on with pingtest.net/speedtest.net, it's not the correct value, as they both test your ping towards the closest server they can find. It's obviously a good test, since if you started having 120ms pings there, it would have implied some other issues, but if you need to test the ping towards a specific web service or application, it's not accurate.
Even with the ram being low, browser games should work without any problem. The CPU, however, is quite weak, and flash-based content mostly leverages that power...
Have you got hardware acceleration enabled in flash player settings?
Used to have a similar issue on a parent's computer with Candy Crush Saga. The game dropped down to indecent framerates during combos, and enabling hardware accel solved the issue.
Here's a guide on how to do that
Otherwise, try using another web browser, as James suggested.
Even if you have 2.5GB of RAM anyway, browsers don't eat THAT much unless they have memory leaks, so it's pretty safe to assume that's not the issue.
