Hi,

So I just built my first pc, which has no OS installed, specs are as follows:

Athlon 5350
gigabyte am1m-s2h motherboard
4GB Ram
Seagate 250Gb
cIT 500W PSU

So when I turned this on for the first time, the motherboard (gigabyte) logo flashed up for a second, before the screen returned to black. I have tried turning the system on and off multiple times, with a repeat of this, or the "no input detected" sign going away, but the screen remaining black.

So I bought a motherboard speaker to listen to the beep codes, but there is just one, short beep, which indicates that the system has booted successfully.

What could be the problem?

What are you expecting to happen? You don't have an OS it doesn't have anything to do.

So your unable to get into the BIOS? If that is the case I am unsure since your beep signifies that all is well.

Hey bud - not too sure of your expertise. I have little, but this article was a savior to me. Good luck!
