Thanks for the quick reply, just what I needed to hear.

Define a "lot" .... testing done on same box:

Boot time with Seagate 2 TB 7200 rpm HD = 21.2 seconds
Boot time with Seagate 2 TB SSHD = 16.9 seconds
Boot time with Samsung 256 GB Pro SSD = 15.6 seconds

Don't get me wrong, if you run storage benchmarks the SSD will kick tail. But if you are expecting a life changing experience, it just ain't gonna happen.

Remember that only the stuff that is on the SSD works faster.

We have two laptops here, one with a SSD + HD and one with SSHD. No one can tell them apart w/o a stopwatch or benchmark. As far as AutoCAD, Gaming, Boot Time, the difference is not one anyone can "observe".

I'd recommend:

Get a SSHD with just about any CPU / GFX card combo .... if ya still have more money to spend.....

Get a better GFX card .... if you have a 780, 780 Ti or 290x and still have more money to spend ....

Get a better CPU .... if you have a 4790k and still have more money to spend, get a SSD.
