Hi there
I built a new pc in may with a few problems showing up along the way. I finally thought I had everything sorted but I have encountered another problem here is my story...

I have been on my pc today playing some games and generally looking about my computer when suddenly as I left my pc on the desktop screen the whole screen turned into a pattern of checkered artifacts completely covering the screen. I then rebooted the pc and when I logged back on my Nvidia control panel told me the driver has stopped working and has had to be recovered.. I then rebooted again to the desktop and it happened again same thing. For the third time I rebooted and it hasn't happened again yet for about an hour. I am now taking this time to download and reinstall the drivers to see if this fixes the problem.

OK I have tested my gpu temps in game and It runs max about 58c so I don't think it's overheating.

I have also tested my ram only a few weeks ago on memtest for 12 hours with no errors.

The whole pc including the GPU is clean with no dust as I clean it regularly.

Funny thing was I had corsair link installed and after these problems it started throwing up loads of errors and crashing so I uninstalling that and am yet to have an artifact in incident. I know it really doesn't like win 8.1 so im just going to keep it uninstalling anyway

Please can someone help me with perhaps troubleshooting this. I just want to get these problems sorted :)

Many thanks

Greg

edit: I have now clean uninstalled my GPU drivers and downloaded them again and reinstalled them. i went into a game to test it out and within minutes the game distorted with the checkered multicoloured pattern which then switched to coloured lines and restarted. on the restart the resolution change to a low 4:3 resolution with a different type of artifacts. i managed to get a picture of these artifacts and have included them now

Solution
Hi after testing my power supply and other parts and replacing the Gpu with a spare I have come to the conclusion it is a faulty card and have spoke to my supplier and they agree now I am going to get this card off for a RMA.

I hope this can help someone in the future if you have similar problems.

Thanks for reading.
