Hello again,

So, I have been debating whether or not to purchase the 270 or the 270x and I came across a 5 star rated graphics card on Amazon for only $189.95, the XFX R9 270x Double Dissipation GPU.
I am wondering whether or not this card would be a better pick than the GIGABYTE R9 270 that I was originally planning on purchasing. I would also like to know if both of these considered cards are quiet. (Performance-wise, I was hoping to run games like Skyrim and some F2P FPS games such as WarFace on maxed out settings with at least 50 FPS.)

Thanks!

I have a xfx r9 270x and it's running everything i want very well. I can play skyrim modded out with ENBs at playable frames (30fps+) which is still pretty good for a 2gb card.

Go for it! XFX cards are generally really good and one of the best looking ones in the market, and for that price why not?

The 270X is better of the two and here is another one that I have used for others before that has worked well and have had no problems with this brand yet and have used them regularly. After the rebate is is also 190 if you round up and allfo the ones I have gotten have been quiet. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Would you guys know if any of the Gigabyte branded GPUs are as quiet as they say they are with their "Windforce" fans? If so, I would like to have an alternative just in case Amazon inflates the XFX GPU's price.

I'd just stick with the XFX DD edition if you're unsure about the windforce. I can say from my XFX DD it's pretty quiet. I keep the fans at 60%+ and it never goes to 70C when gaming from what I've seen. Even when I tried putting my card through a little mining, it was still relatively cool compared to what I was expecting from it.

The gigabyte one should still be fairly cool and might be a tad bit louder than the xfx one due to the extra fan. But it shouldn't be noticeably louder until you turn up the fans I'd imagine.

And if if Amazon inflates all of those card's prices, I guess I'll just have to go with the EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC Edition.

From what I understand, HIS has some pretty overrated GPUs. Can any of you object to that?

This is my entire build, except for some of the other peripherals that I'm purchasing (most items will be from Amazon and my local Fry's store)

I suggest you opt for a better PSU. I'm not sure if that one will be sufficient in handling the whole system.

Also, I'd take the stock cooler over the one you selected in the build. I'm not sure if it's any better than the stock cooler.

Yeah I agree with you on HIS and what I've heard from friends that have used them and read. I agree also with getting a better PSU here is a link with a list of brands and their models that are ones to get and ones to steer clear of.

I had an alternative to my current PSU pick, the EVGA 500w 80+ Platinum PSU. But now that I am thinking about PSUs again, would any of you recommend any good 500-600w PSUs under $60?

Wait, so one of my friend's mentioned that the stock coolers in every processor suck, like ALOT. Do any of you have any objections or suggestions? Or should i just go with his opinion and buy an aftermarket heat-sync.

Will this cooler be a good choice? Cooler Master DK9-7E52A-0L-GP, and is having one fan speed on a aftermarket heat-sync bad? Or good.

That is practically a stock cooler. I would say if you want an aftermarket cooler, minimum I'd recommend is usually a 212 evo. The stock is fine if you're not overclocking.

RAM 1333Mhz or 1600Mhz?(I used to play on an old Dell Inspiron 1520 so I just want to be able to play games like BF4 and Skyrim maxed out with at least 60 FPS)

Recommended: 1600Mhz Cas9 RAM, Gigabyte 970a ud3p, XFX 550w psu. At least those are my recommendations. If you can't have all 3, then sacrifice on the RAM amount. Get 4gb now and then 4gb later on when you have more money.
