I have tried numerous of parts and spent hours attempting to get a build which i like, being on a tight budget (£500) doesn't make things any easier but i think i finally have got there. This will only be used for Gaming no editing or rendering, will use to watch youtube videos ect. Im a bit uncertain about the PSU, it is only sold by scan.co.uk, has no image or ratings at all...But on the bright side, I've been told that SeaSonic is a good brand. Also slightly worried that the CPU will bottleneck, if someone with experience could say if it would or not i would greatly appreciate it. Taking in constructive feedback and tips for building it as it will be the first time :D

You can remove the CPU cooler if it's too expensive, but I wouldn't recommend it since the stock cooler is noisy:

The PSU is cheaper, but very high quality, the CPU is cheaper and insignificantly slower (can be easily overclocked to match the FX-8350), and the motherboard is a lot better.

What distinguishes a bad Motherboard from a good one?? I've heard you don't exactly need a high end one because it doesn't affect performance, im not entirely sure about that. Also, about the PSU XFX is a good brand which is why i chose a XFX GPU, but don't you think 550W is too close to the estimated power usage especially because it isn't 110% accurate. Would the CPU i chose or the one you suggested bottleneck the GPU? Sorry im really picky and asking questions but this will be my first hand built pc so i want it to go well and learn the most about each component inside so i know what im dealing with

You are right, the motherboard doesn't affect performance on a noticeable level, but the board in your original build is old and has a not-so-good power design, so it's not meant to handle the newer 8-core CPUs. This might lead to VRM heat issues.

That 550W unit would be enough IMHO, although I wouldn't run anything more stressing than the R9 280 on it.

Neither of the CPUs is going to cause a bottleneck.

Considering the small price difference, Windows 8/8.1 is better IMO. It will have support for longer than windows 7. Windows 8 also has a fast boot option.
Windows 8 (windows 8 users have free upgrade to 8.1) seems to be only 4 pounds more than windows 7. There is a amazon seller selling windows 7 for 45 pounds, but looking at his reviews and picture, the copies don't look legitimate.
