Hello, today while the computer was idle all of the sudden it shutdown my first guess was that a power outage ocurred in my apartment but after verifing everything was fine, tried to turn on the computer but it just restart itself every 2 seconds. One time it started to boot and got in to the repair screen just to shutdown again. tried to boot it without 1 memory ram stick and without the video card but no luck, it just go in to a loop of restarting every few seconds.
it ran fine for about a month no problems that i can recall

I have a similar issue with a new build. It works for 30 minutes, then shuts off for 5 seconds, on for 2, off for 5.

The only thing we have in common is the gigabyte mobo. I've researched the issue some more and I keep seeing gigabyte motherboards as the only pattern between the builds.

Here's my thread and what I tried:
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2268412/build-stuck-indefininte-boot-cycle-seconds-seconds.html#14009753

In my case it wasn't the psu, ram, gpu, cooler. It could be the cpu or the motherboard itself. I tried clearing bios, updating bios revision, etc... Nothing worked.

I'm in the process of starting an RMA with GB. If you manage to find a solution, please let me know :)

I figured out my problem, the reset button of my case was faulty I belive, so I disconnected it from the mobo and now it works without problems.

Lots of people told me that it wasn't a hardware problem but an electric one and so it was
