Hi i have a stock 7870 card, and for some reason when I try to play any graphic intensive game, I see and hear my card run like crazy

It hits temps of up to 97C playing something like dead island, or Bf4

Im not sure if this is normal, I could use some help, do you think I should send it back, and get a new one, or is it normal and maybe I can change something

Dont be afraid to ask for more information

More about : gpu running hot normal idk

A quick look around the internet, says that is too hot.
I see 105c max and some throttle at 95c.

Without knowing the ambient temp inside the case, it is hard to diagnose the problem.

The internal cooling, CPU, and GPU can only do as good as the case cooling allows.
A good cool case should be no more than a few degrees above room temp.

Most likely it's sort of normal. GPUs heat up and fans sound like afterburners when playing games like that on high/ultra settings. 97c is a little too high though. Make sure you check the air flow in your case. The GPU could be getting hot air from other exhaust, path ways could be clogged by wires or dust. Above 90 and you may be damaging the card, you should probably be sitting around 80 at load. Try adjusting the fan curve... Use a program like afterburner or precision x.

Is this a new card for you, or a used model?
Are you OCing?
Fan speeds?

If there is no OC, and this card is new send it back. If its used try to replace the paste on it, or check for dust buildup. If you are OCing, simply return to stock speeds.

Temps are high for sure here. Are you overclocking? What is your room temp? What about air flow in your PC Case?

Hey sorry Ive been out for a while, My card is still under warranty so Ive decided to send it back in hopes of seeing results, also my case is very well wired and cooled so it doesn't seem to be that, and no wires run near the gpu, So I'm thinking it has to do with the thermal paste, but I dont have any sitting around, and have little experience with it, soo just sending it back
