I want to spice up my arc midi r2 a bit, and although i have it positioned in the room where i dont see the case at all unless i got up and walked around my desk, but its clearly seen when walking into the room.

So i was thinking would throwing in a UV cold cathode and a white cathode look sweet together or would the UV light not react to the white light as i would expect?

More about : cathode white cathode

If you use UV lights then you are going to need UV reactive components. White cathodes might counteract the UV effect.I have blue cold cathodes in my case and they are pretty bright. I don't know your setup but if you had a cpu cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper N520 and replaced the two fans with UV reactive fans and but another UV fan in the rear of your case as exhaust that would really look nice. I would then get a colored cold cathode to go with it, just not white. But since they are pretty inexpensive you could try white out to see if you like it or not. What kind of case do you have?

I have fractal design arc midi r2 case, this build was made around june, and initially i went with a NZXT H440 White case with a really sweet white led strip going around the window, but i just wasnt happy with the front panel and how it felt as if the fans were suffocating and not pulling in adequate air. This case im using now has 6 140mm fans 2 top exhausts, 1 rear exhaust, 2 front intakes, 1 bottom intake that blows right into a gtx 780.

I have my intake fans set at 1000rpms which is the maximum and the exhaust fans are running around 750rpms to keep positive pressure in the case.

I think im gonna just throw in a normal cold cathode kit in there and skip the UV idea even though it'd look cool, but the case window is tinted so a bright light would probably be a better choice. Now the question is what color to go with, i could go multicolored but im not sure how it'd look. I kind of want to skip on anything blue since its just really common and i've had it before in a previous build. I was looking at something a tad bit more exotic like a purple.
