I have an Hp pavilion p7-1254 that came with a amd a6-3620 apu and 8 gigs of ram. I replaced the PSU with a 750 watt rosewill and bought a MSI geforce gtx 760 OC gaming edition gpu and run win7. All games run well but i cant seem to get past 30-40 frames per minute in a wide variety of games such as Firefall or the secret world. Niether my gpu or cpu never get hot or unstable and additional overclocking to gpu made little improvement. So my questions are
.will upgrading to a unlocked pentium 20th anniversary g3258 help?
2. is cpu causing bottlneck or ram or something else?
3.In regards to a new mobo, will pci-e 3.0 vs. 2.0 make a big differance? Is an h81 mobo good or should a z87 or z97 really be purchased? thanks for the help!

Solution
Yes, the CPU will bottleneck that GPU badly in any CPU intensive game.

No 3.0 vs 2.0 makes ZERO difference.

I would skip the Pentium unless you put it in a Z97 board and overclock the heck out of it. Thats what it is designed for.

If that is not what you want to do, get an i3.
