Hi all,
I will be building a budget entry level kinda cheap gaming PC for my nephew soon and was wondering how dated the parts I will be using will be. I am planning on using old parts from my previous builds (it's a good thing I never trashed them), however I am concerned with the CPU and GPU of choice and how it will hold up with today's games. He mostly plays TF2 and Minecraft, but he also enjoys a variety of other games as well.

CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
GPU- Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 1GB
Case- NZXT Source 210 Windowed
Monitor- undecided (1368x768?)

I know I don't expect to be able to run on highest settings with rock solid FPS, I'd even be surprised if it would be able to break med settings, but I do want him to have a very enjoyable experience. He's a good kid and tries really hard in school, and I want to reward him. I'm also planning to build this with expand ability and upgrades I'm the future as well.

What do you guys think? Let me know please! Thanks!

Well the CPU is fine for most of today's games with few exceptions here and there, but the GPU is well.... That is the one major area where this could use an upgrade in the future. But if it is going to be at 1368x768 then it should be fine for the most part and TF2 and Minecraft aren't really demanding so those would be fine with that hardware.

link to MOBO (just to check PCIE x16 is 2 or above.
and 5670 plays fine at 720p, even crysis 1 if you turn down the AF. im sure for non extreme games it should do fine
