Which one would be better? I was wanting to see if any crossfire config would preform better than the 780 and be cheaper. Thanks in advanced for any and all help.

Solution
A r9 280 crossfire will give you 780 ti performance I think, cause the r9 280's are 760 performance so if you get the r9 280 4gb versions you will get 780 ti performance

This is an R9 280x vs 780, the 280x is beyond the price range of consideration, I wouldn't pay $100 more for 25% more performance.

I don't play a wide variety of games, and if I do come across a game that doesn't scale well I doubt I will have a problem with it. The whole point of me using crossfire is to find a cheaper alternative to a 780 if there is one.

Still looking for a solid answer. Thanks for the help thus far.

By solid I mean an answer as to which would be best and an explanation as to why this is. If you're saying the 780 is the better choice (and I'd like to know why) then is there a crossfire configuration that will add up to less than the 780 but preform better? 3 way Crossfire is alright as well.

Is there a certain source you have that would explain the performance in depth? I'd like to see the numbers to get a better idea. Also, could you explain more about two or more GPUs being less reliable and more of a hassle? I really don't think I'd have a problem with the hassle if I'm getting the performance of a $625+ card for $380. Thanks for the help so far.
